How Does Renuvion Work?
Renuvion dramatically tightens the skin without the need for long incisions. It is performed alone or as a helpful addition to body contouring procedures. What is J-Plasma?
Renuvion uses radiofrequency energy to create helium plasma. When combined with helium gas, RF creates a plasma steam that instantly heats the targeted skin from underneath the tissue layers. Dr. Friedlander inserts a special cannula (hollow needle) through tiny incisions near the treatment area. This instrument releases the plasma steam directly toward the skin while simultaneously providing cooling to prevent aggressive heating. Preparation
As with any surgical procedure, you must avoid the following before Renuvion treatment:

Please prepare a space in your home for recovery. Ask a trusted friend or family member for transportation to and from our surgical center. Renuvion Procedure Steps
Dr. Friedlander uses IV sedation during all of his surgical procedures. By avoiding general anesthesia, he allows patients to stay awake and prevents the negative effects associated. If liposuction is included in the treatment plan, he performs this first. If not, he starts the procedure by placing small incisions near the treatment area with a scalpel.
He then carefully places the Renuvion probe just beneath the skin, careful to avoid important internal structures. The helium plasma uniformly heats the skin subdermally to a temperature between 45-65℃. This allows the internal and controlled damage to only affect the underside of the skin, promoting instant tightening and long-term collagen production.
The skin’s surface never reaches a damaging temperature, meaning there is no outward injury. This keeps the skin looking healthy and glowing even while healing. Dr. Friedlander finishes the procedure by placing small sutures or bandages on the incisions. By itself, Renuvion treatments typically take around 1 to 2 hours to complete.
Recovery & Results
You will likely need about 1 week of downtime to recover from Renuvion treatments. This is completely dependent on your healing ability and the extent of your procedure.
